Ditch the store bought picante sauce, many of which have preservatives, and make your own. It really is quick and easy with just a few ingredients zipped in your food processor or blender. This salsa is a versatile condiment you can use on so many foods, on its own, or with a veggie tray or homemade baked corn tortilla chips. Enjoy and Work It!
Quick and Easy Fresh Salsa
6 Roma tomatoes
1/2 medium yellow onion
4 garlic cloves
2 jalapeño pepper
1-2 Serrano peppers (depending on how hot you want it)
1 handful fresh cilantro
Juice from 1 lime
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Additional salt/pepper to taste
Place all ingredients coarsely chopped into a food processor and pulse a few times, scrapping the side of the bowl down at least once, until the salsa is to your desired consistency. Add additional salt and pepper to taste. If you would like it less hot reduce the number of Serrano and jalapeño peppers and add poblano or Anaheim peppers instead.
